Glenwood resident Marjorie Melichar is producing a brochure for the First Annual Freedom Festival scheduled for Friday, June 27 - Sunday, June 29 in downtown Glenwood. The brochure will have a schedule of events as well as sponsors of the festival.

Melichar also wants to include a salute to our troops and a salute to local veterans in the brochure. Anyone who has family from this area that is serving in Iraq or Afghanistan will want them included in this brochure. Also anyone who has previously served in these two wars or veterans of previous wars.

There will be a downtown sidewalk sale as well as an antique car show and food vendors. Other events will be announced later.

The Freedom Festival will celebrate the quality of life in southwest Arkansas by providing safe, affordable and fun events that embody the spirit of patriotism and a sense of community pride.

The festival is being sponsored by the Glenwood Senior Activity Center in conjunction with the Glenwood Regional Chamber of Commerce.
