Centerpoint Board to auction off old Amity Elementary equipmentBy Mike Wallace
ROSBORO - The seven member Centerpoint School District board worked through a varied agenda Monday night. It included review and approval of federal program budgets, anticipated increases in salary and operating expenses, specific items on paid bills, the auctioning off of outdated equipment in the old Amity Elementary, and two disciplinary actions.
After establishing a quorum and approval of prior meeting minutes, the administration and board members went through the agenda in a steady and thorough manner.
The first item was Superintendent of Schools Lewis Diggs pointing out specific items on the paid bills. The first item was the final time water and sewer bills for the old Amity Elementary will appear. The school board voted last month to transfer the property to the City of Amity.
Diggs noted a $3,294.54 payment to Kelley’s Upholstery for repairing seats on the district’s buses; a $2,730.58 payment to Doug’s Horn Shop for band instruments; a $560 payment to Stephens and Associates for the inspection of electrical circuits in campus buildings; and that the total cash paid out since the last month’s statement was $73,667.88.
