City council members want new jail in GlenwoodMURFREESBORO - A delegation of Glenwood City Council members asked the quorum court Monday night to reconsider building the proposed new county jail in Murfreesboro and locate it in Glenwood instead.
Councilmember Billy Plyler, a Glenwood businessman, asked the court to consider building the new jail on the north end of the county. He said Glenwood is the county’s largest city and accounts for 70 percent of the county’s sales tax revenue.
