GLENWOOD – The City Council heard complaints from a local resident about leaf burning, discussed potential bids for the new roof on the proposed library building and also applying for a grant that would allow doubling the capacity at the city’s water treatment plant at their Monday night meeting.
The council heard from incoming Chamber of Commerce President Buddy Green about the highway access for the new depot/chamber office on Highway 70 next to the old Glenwood High School Gym.
“Our neighbor who owns the gym cuts off the access to the depot when he allows big trucks to park in front,” Green said.
“We were wondering if there was anything you guys could do,” he added.
Discussion turned to the concrete apron that the highway department now requires for any access for a business on a public highway.
“We will be putting it in an area that would require the less amount of fill,” Green said.
