Doctor hired for PCMHBy Heather Grabin

Pike County Memorial Hospital Board members accepted the application of Dr. Richard Plant of Clarendon April 15.
Dr. Plant will be relocating to Murfreesboro where he will work at Pike County Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Plant will be working four days a week and every other weekend at the Family Clinic of Murfreesboro, allowing the clinic to remain open after Dr. Hiram
Ward’s retirement that begins April 30.
Dr. Plant has an active Arkansas license and is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Plant has an extensive career in the U.S. Navy during which he practiced medicine. He has also practiced medicine in Illinois, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and various parts of Arkansas.
Dr. Plant has currently been working at the North Metro Hospital emergency room in Jacksonville.
He will begin work at Pike County Memorial Hospital this Thursday.
“Dr. Plant is very excited about moving to Murfreesboro and he is more than qualified for the position,” said Rosemary Fritts, hospital administrator.
