Helen Lyons, First Christian church bookkeeper, Sept. 29 October 6, 2008 - No reporter cited

Helen B. Lyons, 90, of Nashville, died Monday, September 29, 2008 at a Nashville nursing home.

She was born Dec. 20, 1917 at Ada, Okla., the daughter of the late Fagon and Lucy Sneed Brown.

She was a member of the First Christain Church, where she was bookkeeper. She loved ceramics.

Mrs. Lyons was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Lyons; and one brother, F.M. Brown, Jr.

She is survived by three nephews, Bobby Brown of Wylie, Texas, Doug Lyons and Stan Lyons, both of Denver, Colo.; three nieces, Yvonne Harris and Debra Abney, both of Houston, Texas, and Elaine Smith of Nashville; six cousins, Louise Drouillard, Berna Ray, Lucille Hardin, James Gray and Robert Gray, all of Saratoga, and Lyndol Jones of Nashville; a brother-in-law, Calvin Lyons and wife, Louise, of Nashville; a sister-in-law, Betty Brown of Houston, Texas; and a host of friends.

Graveside services were held Thurs., Oct. 2, at Restland Memorial Park, with Ralph Posey officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
