Howard County Fair Board meeting May 12, 2008 - No reporter cited

The Howard County Fair Board met Tuesday, April 29, to continue the planning of the 2008 County Fair. Board members Linda Kitchens, Daryl Bailey, Bill Bean, Charles Blue, Mike Graves, Diane Gunter and President Robert Gunter heard updates on the fair catalogue and arranged time schedules for the upcoming fair pageant. Chairpersons for the pageant will be Kookie Buice and former Ms. Howard County Caylyn Buice.

Board secretary Linda Kitchens presented a list of awards for the winners, which included: Ms. Howard County - $50 savings bond, First Nat’l Bank Nashville, $50 savings bond, Smith’s Ready Mix.

Ms. Teen - First Nat’l Bank Dierks $50 savings bond.

Ms. Junior - $50 savings bond, First Nat’l Ins.

Ms. Howard and Ms Teen - Bouquets, Pic-a-Lily Flowers.

Ms. Junior, Ms. Petite and Little Miss - Bouquets, Ribbon and Roses.

Little Mister, Petite - two $50 savings bonds, Regions Bank

Little Miss - $50 savings bond, Teague and Teague.

All catagories - Trophies, Diamond Bank.

All girl catagories- five tiaras, Lawrence Pest Control

Little Mister - Belt buckle, Western Auto

All catagories- six sashes, Nashville Chamber of Commerce

Fair pageant entry forms may be picked up at the Chamber office, Nashville News office and Merle Norman Cosmetics. Other businesses wishing to have the pagent applications on hand are asked to contact the Nashville Chamber office.

The ‘08 Howard County Fair Pageant will be held Sat., Aug. 9, at the Sixth Street Auditorium, Nashville.
