Junior Hornets win 7-2A district titleDewayne Holloway

MINERAL SPRINGS-The Mineral Springs Jr. Hornets won the 7-2A West District Track Meet in Mineral Springs Tuesday, May 6, with a total of 190 points.
Freshman Jason Ware led the Jr. Hornets, with three first place finishes in individual events and two victories as part of relay teams.
Three other Jr. Hornets; Dominique Lampkins, Rodrea Jones and Aron McDonald, had first place finishes for the Hornets.
Ware had a first place finish in the triple jump, 300-meter hurdles and the 400-meter dash, while finishing fourth in the shot.
Lampkins finished first in the high jump and the 110-meter hurdles, second in the triple jump and fourth in the 400-meter dash.
Jones finished first in the shot and 200-meter dash, while finishing third in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump.
McDonald ran for first place in the 1600-meter run, while finishing second place in the pole vault and eighth in the 800-meter run.
Trevor Lewis contributed to the Jr. Hornet victory, with a third place finish in the 300-meter hurdles, while finishing fourth in the long jump and eighth in the high jump.
Jujuan Turner placed fifth in the 800-meter run and seventh in the pole vault, while teammate Kolton Ortiz finished fifth in the pole vault.
Ware, Lampkins, Jones and Rashad Williams finished first in the 4X100-meter relay.
Lampkins, Lewis, McDonald and Ware won the 4X400-meter relay.
Turner, Ques Hendrix, Tanner McAlister and Ortiz finished fifth in the 4X800-meter relay.
