Kirby Board approves transfers, hires staffKIRBY – The Kirby School Board approved four seperate transfers and hired two aides at their regular monthly meeting Thursday, September 25.
As the first order of business, the board approved the budget for the 2008-09 school year by a 6-0 vote.
Superintendent Jeff Alexander discussed redoing the roof on the gymnasium and installing surveillance cameras. No action was taken.
The board heard four seperate transfer motions.
They voted 6-0 to allow the transfer of Mary Chapman to Kirby from Centerpoint.
The board also voted 6-0 to allow the transfers of Bruce, James and Krystin Spears from Kirby to Centerpoint Schools.
They also voted in two seperate 6-0 motions to allow the transfer of Russell Mann and Macon Sullivan from Kirby to Centerpoint and from Kirby to Umpire,
respectively.
The board approved the certified personnel policy handbook 6-0 and voted to adopt the handbook 6-0.
They also voted unanimously to adopt the 2008-09 salary schedule.
Lynn Tolleson made a motion to hire Sandra Harris as a Title 1 aide. This passed 6-0.
Darla Crump made a motion to hire Carrie Jo Cook as a Special Education Aide. This also passed 6-0.
