A Murfreesboro man was injured in a one-vehicle accident last Thursday.

James (Randy) Lingo, 44, was taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital for injuries he sustained in the wreck. He was later transported to a Little Rock hospital.

According to the collision report prepared by Pike County Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Lamb, Lingo was traveling south on Highway 301 pulling a homemade trailer when his jeep ran off the west side of the highway onto the shoulder and traveled 80-feet before the tires dropped into the ditch.

The jeep then traveled another 27-feet down the side of the ditch, occasionally crossing the ditch before crossing and running into the opposite side of the ditch.

Lingo then crossed a creek and traveled another 35-feet before the trailer became unattatched from the jeep.

The vehicle then traveled another 105-feet down the west ditch, crossed the highway and stopped.

Lingo was transported to Pike County Memorial Hospital and blood was taken for a toxicology report.
