Nashville man receives sentence for drug charges May 5, 2008 - No reporter cited

NASHVILLE – An undercover drug buy that occurred in February, combined with previous drug charges, landed a Nashville man in the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Wallace Brown Jr, 22, of Nashville, was arraigned April 9 and entered a guilty plea on three separate charges of delivery of a controlled substance (marijuana).

Circuit Court Judge Ted Capeheart formally sentenced Brown to six years in ADC (concurrent) and ordered to pay costs and DNA fees.

Brown also entered a true plea for a probation revocation charge.

Steven M. Gilliam, 20, of Nashville, was also formally sentenced on two separate charges of delivery of a controlled substance (crack cocaine). He was ordered to serve a concurrent 10 year sentence in ADC and pay cost and DNA fees. Gilliam was given credit for jail time served.

Michael P. Killett, 31, of Texarkana, entered a true plea to a probation violation and was sentenced to four years in ADC to run concurrent with probated sentence. His original charge of robbery was amended to commercial burglary. He will receive credit for jail time served.

Cherlerome McFadden, 24, of Hope, entered a guilty plea for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (marijuana) and entered a true plea to a probation violation. He was sentenced to four years in ADC (with two suspended) and judicial transfer to a regional punishment facility.

Continuance granted

Jerome Witherspoon, 34, of Mineral Springs, was ordered to report back on May 28 for pretrial and June 19 for trial. Witherspoon is charged with two separate charges of delivery of a controlled substance (crack cocaine).

Arraignments

Billie Renee Cole, 38, of Nashville, entered a not true plea to a probation revocation charge. She was charged with neglect or abuse of an adult in 2005. She asked for a bond reduction, but the court was informed that she absconded from her probation agreement for more than one year.

Judge Capeheart did not reduce her bond and ordered her to return on May 21 for trial before Judge Charles Yeargan.

Anthony Russell Matthei, 18, of Nashville, was ordered to return on June 18 for pretrial and July 8 for trial.

Jamal D. Staves, 32, of Little Rock, was ordered to return on May 14. He is charged with two possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) charges, DWI (No. 1) and refusal of a chemical test.

The following divorces were filed in Howard County Circuit Clerk Bobbie Jo Green’s office:

April 23 – Robert Rockenbach v. Karen Gail Rockenbach

April 30 – Robert J. McAlister v. Dianne Renee McAlister.

Howard County Clerk Janice Huffman issued marriage licenses to the following couples:

April 21 – Tony Lee Wilson, 33, and Karina Marie Dildy, 21, both of Nashville.

April 25 – Jon David Humphries, 34, of Nashville and Dana L. Smith, 34, of Mineral Springs.

Justin Matthew Hartness, 25, and Kathrin Nicole Tallant, 22, both of Nashville.

April 26 – Tyler Trey Cheatwood, 20, Paden, Okla., and Cheyenne Morris, 20, of Umpire.

April 27 – John David Cloud, 65, and Deautaun Howard, 64, both of Nashville.

April 28 – Victor Hugo Murillo, 49, and Maria Ester Villatoro, 41, both of Nashville.
