Park announces Dinosaur Festivel admission increaseTerrica Hendrix

NASHVILLE – The admission to the annual Dinosaur Festival will increase to $2 this year to cover expenses, it was announced during the Nashville Parks and Recreation Commission meeting.
Park Director Dolly Henley asked the commissioners to consider an increase for the admission to the festival to cover various expenses and the motion to charge $2 for adults and students was unanimously approved.
The motion also stated that 25 percent of funds collected will go to the group collecting admission. Only tournament players and coaches are excluded from admission and are excluded from the 25 percent payment.
The Dinosaur Festival will be held on May 30 and 31 at the park.
The festival will include softball and baseball tournaments, a fishing derby, bam bam and pebbles contest, music, and children’s games, according to Henley.
“We will be have a bunch of activities for kids to do. This year we’ll have bounce houses for kids to jump, talent shows, bands, obstacle courses, and much much more. It will be a good time for the whole family to enjoy,” Henley said.
Teams are encouraged to contact the park to sign up no later than May 23 by calling 845-7405.
The commissioners were informed that the concession profits payable to Nashville Baseball Association for the recent jamboree was $1271.44.
Commissioners also unanimously approved;
A request from the Dodson Street Church of Christ to use the Toland Park Pavilion for a tent revival on May 12-16.
Henley’s recommendation to hire Beth Graham for the summer intern position beginning May 8.
