Proclamation from state legislature and parade April 8, 2009 - No reporter cited

The City of Glenwood Centennial Celebration has been in the planning by the Regional Chamber of Commerce and has events planned through this week and on into the remaining months of 2009. The town was originally called Holly, then Hollywood, Greenwood was suggested, and finally Glenwood was decided upon by the people running the lumber mills.

The celebration continues with the Business Appreciation Banquet on April 10, and a Lions Club Pancake Breakfast on April 11 from 7 to 10 a.m.. Both events are at the Senior Citizens Building.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, a motorcycle Poker Run starts benefitting the Meals on Wheels program at the Senior Center. That evening from 5 to 7 p.m.. food and entertainment will happen at the Glenwood Depot located on Highway 70.
