Sandhu-Eckhart to wed April 19On April 19, 2008 Rodgers Long Eckhart and Pavan Kaur Sandhu will be joined together as husband and wife in two ceremonies.
At 9 a.m., the parties will be united in a wedding at the Sikh Temple of North Texas in Garland, Texas. At 5:30 p.m., the parties will be joined in holy matrimony at Custer Road United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas, where the groom attended church as a youth.
Rodgers is the son of the Honorable Edwin J. Alford and Fredye Long Eckhart Alford of Center Point. He is the grandson of Mack Henry Long, the late Fredean Rodgers Long and the late Richard and Ann Eckhart. Rodgers was a 1999 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School.
Pavan is the daughter of Jaswant (Jessie) and Permjit (Pam) Sandhu.
She is the granddaughter of Rajinder Kaur, the late Sardar Gurdial Singh Sandhu and Amar Singh and Harbans Kaur Gill.
The couple will reside in Charlottesville, Va. where Rodgers will be completing a three year residency at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine, Ophthalmology Department.
