Scrapperettes cruise to win over Lady LeopardsJim Pinson

MENA - The Scrapperettes proved their earlier 10-run win over the De Queen Lady Leopards was no fluke, with a 6-0 victory during the semi-finals of the 7-4A District Tournament.
De Queen put the ball into play, but solid defense behind pitcher Andi Reeves proved to be a formable obstacle for the Lady Leopards. Reeves scattered three hits, struck out five and walked only one for the victory.
Katie Parrish got things started, by drawing a walk and advancing to third on two stolen bases. Montana Chism would drive Parrish in from third for the first run of the game on a single to leftfield.
Parrish would reach base for the second time in the game on a bunt single that she once again stretched into a double by stealing second and third. Reeves would bring Parrish home on a single. Courtesy runner Whitney Finley would score on a double off the bat of Jessica Giachino to give the Scrapperettes a comfortable 3-0 lead.
McJunkins led off the fourth inning with a single to leftfield, and would later score on a wild pitch, to put the Scrapperettes up by four.
Shelby Renfrow dropped a bunt single and scored on a single by Brittany Pearson. Parrish would get the second bunt single of the inning for the Scrapperetes.
Chism picked up her second hit of the game and her second RBI.
Nashville picked up two more hits in the fifth inning. Giachino had a single to leftfield and McJunkins hit a single to centerfield, but the Scrapperettes were unable to put the hits together for a score.
McJunkins had three singles to lead the Scrapperettes at the plate.
Parrish and Chism had two singles each. Chism had two RBIs.
Giachino hit a double and single and drove in one run for the Scrapperettes.
Amber Worley, Reeves, Renfrow and Pearson had singles for the game.
