Scrapperettes win the Collin Raye RelaysDewayne Holloway

DEQUEEN - The Scrapperettes accumulated 157.5 points to take first place at the Collin Raye Relays at DeQueen High School April 17.
Jasmine Ellis led the Scrapperettes with five gold medals, while teammate Melissa Millwood won three gold and three silver medals. Sherri Ellis contributed with four gold medals as well.
The Scrapperettes dominated the long jump, triple jump, and pole vault.
The Scrapperettes finished one-two in the long jump with J. Ellis finishing first (17-10) and Millwood second (16-08).
In the triple jump, Sherri Ellis finished first with Millwood second. Millwood would tie for first with teammate Chelsea Vinyard (8-00) in the pole vault.
The Scrapperettes also accumulated seven gold, one silver and one bronze in the running events.
J. Ellis finished first (16.22) with Millwood second (16.48) in the 100-meter hurdles. J. Ellis would go on to win the 300-meter hurdles (49.28) and 200-meter dash (27.86).
Millwood won the 100-meter dash (13.28) and second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.48).
S. Ellis won the 800-meter run (2:37.87).
The Scrapperette 1600 and 3200-meter relay teams captured gold medals for the Scrappers. Jaleesa Jetton, Melissa Millwood, Sherri and Jasmine Ellis won the 1600 relay with a time of 4:14.13.
Rachel Reed, Wimberley Hughes, Kashundra Swift and S. Ellis compiled a time of 11:15.04 on their way to winning the 3200 relay.
The 400-meter relay team placed third with a time of 54.08.
