Scrappers dominate shotput and discus events at Coca-Cola RelaysDewayne Holloway

NASHVILLE - The strength of the Scrapper track team literally rests on the arms of Marcus Witherspoon and Tyler Lingo this season.
Witherspoon and Lingo won the shotput and discus respectively during the recent Coca-Cola relays hosted by Nashville Thursday, April 24.
Witherspoon won the shotput event (50-10) while teammates Bud Snell and Marcus Turner finished second (46-6) and sixth (45-4) respectively.
Lingo took first place honors in the discus (155-10) while fourth place went to Jonathan Roquet (149-9).
The Scrappers were also well represented in other field events with Max Smith finishing second place overall (13-0) in the pole vault and P.J. Armstrong placing eighth (41-0.75) in the triple jump.
In other events, Ryan Morton finished in sixth place (2:08.34) in the 800-meter run and Jase Childers finished sixth (15.87) in the 110-meter hurdles.
The 3200-meter relay team finished in fourth place (9:07.08), while the 1600-meter relay team finished in sixth (3:39.23).
The Scrappers will compete in the 7-4A district track meet May 14 at Ashdown.
