“The Electric Chair” joins Mount Ida business community April 23, 2008 - No reporter cited

The Mount Ida area recently added a couple new faces to the local business landscape. “The Electric Chair” Hair and Nail Salon has been open close to a month offering many services, both traditional and new. The Electric Chair is located at 156 North George Street, next door to the Montgomery County News office.

Owners are Teresa Parish, daughter of Myrtle and Milton Parish and Jessica Austin, daughter of Marty and Brookie Mayberry.

Parish is a 2003 graduate of Caddo Hills High School, and Austin is a 2006 graduate of Mount Ida High School. Both are 2007 graduates of Hot Springs Beauty College.

A special feature of The Electric Chair is their Spa Pedicure Chair, which is unique to the area. They are a full service salon offering haircuts, coloring, perming, manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, waxing, lash & brow dyes, and shampoo sets. In addition, they offer a variety of new age products for purchase.

The owners chose to open in Mount Ida because it is their hometown, and felt like there was a need for a salon that embraced ‘up and coming’ styles of today. The name was created by Teresa Parish, and both women thought it unique and eye catching. Prices start at: pedicures are $25, manicures are $15, and acrylic nails are $45.

Teresa and Jessica would like to invite everyone to stop in for a little pampering or a whole lot of pampering. Walk-Ins are always welcome. They look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new.
