Tornado confirmed in North Howard County May 8, 2008 - No reporter cited

UMPIRE - An EF1 tornado with winds of 95-105 mph touched down near Umpire on Friday, May 2 around 9:03 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, the tornado was on the ground for approximately five minutes and traveling about four miles on the ground. The tornado started near the Davis Cemetery along Pinkerton Road and ended near the intersection of Parsons Road and Hill Lane. It was 50 yards wide at its widest point.

Damage was reported to two barns and a falling tree struck a mobile home. Several trees were uprooted and snapped off, but no human injuries have been reported.
