What is the temperature today? March 6, 2008 - No reporter cited

Can you believe this weather?

We must be in Arkansas. We had tornado on Monday, snow on Tuesday and Wednesday was simply beautiful.

Monday, I sat at my computer station and built the Nashville News while the sky got darker and darker. It felt like something could happen at any moment. And it did, in Tollette.

Sonny Raulerson called me Monday afternoon and told me about some of the damage in that area. Sonny is the director of Emergency Services in Howard County and he is very knowledgeable about storms.

Sonny told me that he witnessed the tornado rotation in the sky above his home. His son suffered some roof damage to his chicken houses, but his wonderful neighbors came immediately to help him make repairs.

Tuesday morning, I looked out the window about 3 a.m. and did not see a thing on the ground. It could have been all that sleep in my eyes, but I didn’t think it did anything. I got dressed around 7 and sat down to watch the morning news.

Channel 7 reported snow in Little Rock, Mt. Ida and Fayetteville, but no mention of Nashville. I assumed we had missed the white stuff, because if it had snowed in Nashville during March, that should be big state-wide news.

I finally walked outside about 10 minutes til 8, to take Zach, to school and that is when I saw it. I immediately called Sheila to see if school had been canceled, because she had been up longer than I had. She told me school was a go. So, I drove Zach to school and I went to work.

By 9:30, it was gone. So much for an old-fashioned snowman or snowball fight after work.

Wednesday was just beautiful.

I attended a Scrapper baseball game Tuesday night and almost froze to death. I am getting old and I have thin blood. (My blood is the only thing thin about me.)
The temperature was perfect on Wednesday. I prepared for colder weather by dressing a little warmer than I needed to. I came out of one of my long sleeve shirts by noon.

Now, I sit here at my computer station again on Thursday and the weatherman is calling for more snow in the forecast.

How am I supposed to prepare for this type of weather? I dress warm and it gets hot. I dress for a nice spring day and I freeze.

Is something wrong with the thermostat in Arkansas. Maybe Lovlis Refrigeration can install a new digital one that will keep us more comfortable.

But, what am I complaining about? This is just Arkansas weather. If you don’t like it now, don’t worry… it will change in a few minutes.

But that is just my view from the canopy of the jungle.
